Battalion 3rd Marines Memorial Concepts | | | | FRONT VIEW
BACK VIEW | Three Marines with Eagle | The concept is the 3/3 Marines have been fighting shoulder to shoulder from WWII to the
present and beyond. In these sketches, everything is combined into one sculptural composition. All three figures are attached
to each other, and a sculpted bronze triad, which the eagle sculpture will sit on top of. This approach will achieve the following: 1. Ensure the monument fits in the 4-ft x 4-ft footprint. 2.
Allow for more dynamic sculptures of the Marines. 3. Easier installation, and provide a
more stable platform for the eagle sculpture to be attached to. 4. Hopefully, reduce overall cost. By sculpting the triad,
we can eliminate the fabrication, delivery and installation of the stone triad. |

VIEW BACK
VIEW | Three Marines Model #1 | This concept is based on the Three Marines with Eagle, minus the
eagle and the center post. This oncept is 3/3 Marines from WWII, Vietnam and WOT fighting houlder to shoulder, till victory
or death. |
| Three Marines In-line Single Marine | The Three Marines Inline is
also a three figured composition. In this sculpture, a WWII Marine, WOT Marine, and Vietnam Marine stand atop a sculpted rock
base with the three unit crests. The WOT Marine points towards the battlefield objective but this also symbolically represents
pointing to the future of the 3/3 Marines. The Single Marine concept is designed to be at a lower price point than the three figured bronze memorials
concepts. A bronze WOT Marine stands in front of two granite slabs with photo etchings of WWII and Vietnam Marines. This concept
symbolizes that whenever a Marine goes into battle, he goes with the spirits and traditions of 3/3 Marines throughout history.
Above the photo etchings are bronze unit crests. | | |
| | | | | | EagleThe eagle
concept is a seven foot wingspan eagle perched atop of three large unit crests and a black granite triad. The eagle and unit
crests can be cast in bronze or stainless steel. Note: The other sketch of the eagle can be substituted for the perched eagle
if you wish the eagle to be flying. |
